What is Romney Hiding?

The Mitt Romney camp has persistently refused to release more than two years of tax returns, in spite of intense pressure from both the democrats and the republicans. So, what is Mr Romney hiding?

The most logical explanation is that it is something involving his financial dealings with Bain Capital. Mr Romney took a leave of absence from Bain Capital in 1999 and it is claimed, he was not involved in day-to-day operations after this date. However, he was listed as its Chief Executive Officer  at least until 2002, according to US Securities and Exchange Commission filings. He is believed to have severed his ties with Bain Capital in 2002.

He also negotiated a severance package for himself and the details have never been disclosed. It is entirely possible that his tax returns would point towards continued involvement with Bain Capital even after the date when he claims to have severed all ties. Such a disclosure would not sit well with voters and could cost him the elections.
